Enable Network of ICT Supported Learning for Disabled People (ENABLE)

Short description

The network coordinates the information exchange in the thematic area of "learning for people with disabilities supported by information and communication technologies (ICT)".

Goals

A Web portal is established that provides information on:

  • opportunities provided by information and communication technologies (ICT) to support the life-long learning of people with disabilities
  • examples of best practice and recommendations
  • methods to evaluate ICT for learners with disabilities
  • international comparison of the usage of ICT in the application area
  • training modules for teachers (as on-line course)
  • recommendations for future research

Focus of FTB

  • user requirements analysis of people with physical disabilities
  • national inquiry
  • description of technical requirements of learning environments
  • provision of technical aids and alternative human-computer interfaces
  • description of relevant trends in computer technology
  • contribution to an on-line training course for teachers in adult education

Project partners

The network consists in total of 23 European partners and is coordinated by Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi Onlus (FDCGO), Milan, Italy.
